Nationwide data sets are overwhelming in size, even in a small country like the Netherlands. GeoTiles.nl was the first to provide a public, colored version of the nationwide AHN1/2/3/4 pointclouds. In November 2023 the data sets have moved to future proof locations. More information on the project and the tiling structure.
The nationwide AHN point cloud has moved to the Delft University of Technology and is now at geotiles.citg.tudelft.nl. Like previously on GeoTiles.nl, a finer tiling of AHN is provided, dividing each tile in 25 tiles of 1×1.25 km, for easier handling. Moreover, the point cloud is colored with aerial imagery for easy viewing. Furthermore, each tile includes a 20 meter overlap with its neighbours to allow for massive parallel processing of the point cloud.
The use of GeoTiles.nl colored point clouds in QGIS was featured in a video by Hans van der Kwast, as well as a blog post by Anton Huizinga. Moreover, GeoTiles.nl was featured in the DigiDare Award 2022 pitch of Lammerts Engineering / GeoBimExperts.
The tiled InSAR data is available from Rijkswaterstaat (Directorate General for Public Works and Water Management) based on the same sheet index as GeoTiles.nl.
The Sentinel-2 data cube, made with support of the NCG Talent Progam 2021, remains at GeoTiles.nl and so do the interactive viewers for Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2.
